Inbound Sales Development Representative (SDR)

Muck Rack’s PR software and solutions enable communications professionals to build and maintain meaningful relationships with journalists, monitor the media, quantify their impact and work together more efficiently as their team.

We’re looking for a driven, detailed-oriented and curious Inbound Sales Development Representative. As the first person many prospects (future customers ranging from established Fortune 500 brands to emerging startups) talk to, you will be responsible for providing a great first impression, qualifying who should be passed to Sales, and feeding insights gleaned from your conversations back to the rest of the organization.

Reporting into our Director of Marketing, you will also receive sales training and mentorship while working closely with both the sales and marketing teams (Inbound SDRs will receive sales training and mentorship). We’re a fast-growing startup, so can expect to make a big impact and work with company leadership to suggest improvements to all parts of the business.

Responsibilities include

  • Promptly respond to and qualify inbound leads
  • Nurture and assist inbound prospects who have shown interest in what we have to say but who haven't yet formally raised their hands to talk to sales
  • Feed insights gained from conversations with prospects (across email, phone and chat) back to the rest of the organization
  • Execute proven processes to generate new sales opportunities
  • Own a target/quota for booking a set number of meetings each month and quarter


  • Detail-oriented with a positive “can-do” attitude and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Eager to learn, collaborate and grow
  • Comfortable making phone calls to potential customers (experience making outbound calls preferred but not required)
  • Experience selling SaaS products and/or PR experience preferred but not required
