Account Manager

Help the world's most interesting brands and biggest PR agencies use Muck Rack, our SaaS software platform for engaging with journalists, monitoring news and tracking coverage. We’re looking for an experienced account manager who understands public relations and the fast-paced news environment that our customers need to stay on top of. As an account manager, you will be the main point of contact for ensuring a portion of Muck Rack customers grow and renew. You should be excited about working in a fast-paced environment where helping customers use Muck Rack to achieve their goals comes as natural as thinking and acting like a top PR professional.

Muck Rack is the leading software platform for public relations and communications executives. Our mission is to make journalists, PR pros and marketers more successful by providing them with the technology they need to find journalists to pitch, monitor media, quantify their impact and work together with their team.

In this position, you will work closely with the sales, customer success and product teams within the company. We’re a fast growing startup, so you’ll be able to make a big impact and work with company leadership to suggest improvements to all parts of the business.

Responsibilities include

  • Serving as a primary contact for a portion of Muck Rack customers
  • Achieving retention and account growth goals
  • Managing customer lifecycle from onboarding to renewal
  • Proactively reaching out to customers to grow the accounts
  • Organizing quarterly reviews with your top accounts
  • Becoming involved in the public relations industry in New York and beyond
  • Demoing Muck Rack at meetings, on phone calls and at events
  • Attending events to meet with customers
  • Tracking industry news to identify outreach opportunities
  • Planning and executing networking events with customers

Preferred skills and interests

  • Knowledge of the PR and journalism industries (preferred but not required)
  • Track record of building relationships with customers at an enterprise software company
  • Comfortable leading meetings and presenting to large groups including C-Suite executives
  • 2-5 years experience working in account management, preferably at an enterprise software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform
  • Dropbox, Trello, Google Apps, CRMs, Slack
  • Prior experience using social media and having a presence on popular platforms (i.e., Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn) to help with business promotion and outreach
  • Sharing lots of animated GIFs
  • Using the latest and greatest mobile and web apps
